Living in Miguel Hidalgo

Renting a stand-alone house in Miguel Hidalgo means looking to the Lomas corridor or Polanco itself. Lomas de Chapultepec anchors the corridor with walled properties on quiet, hilly streets, gardens and garages built in from the start. Bosque de las Lomas, a few minutes further along the same corridor toward Cuajimalpa, offers a similar setup at a somewhat gentler rent. Even inside Polanco itself, houses cluster on the quieter streets away from Masaryk, within walking distance of the same restaurants and shops. Renters set on a house with real outdoor space should start with these three before looking anywhere else in the borough.

What to consider before renting

Streets in this part of the borough are built around the car more than most of the city, so a garage or dedicated parking matters more than square footage. The same hillside layout that gives these houses their gardens also means walking to the Metro isn't realistic; Line 7's Auditorio and Constituyentes stops are a drive away. Renters priced out of the Lomas corridor can also look toward Álvaro Obregón to the south, where standalone houses sit on bigger lots for less rent.
