Living in Tlalpan

Jardines en la Montaña is the one pedregal community with an active house-rental corridor, behind guarded gates near Periférico Sur. Further south, the wooded, closed streets of Tlalpuente and the golf-course setting of Club de Golf México rent out houses with yards and mature trees near the Ajusco forest. What to consider before renting

Renting a house in the Ajusco zone, including around Jardines del Ajusco and the pueblo of San Andrés Totoltepec, means planning your commute around the Carretera Picacho-Ajusco or Periférico Sur, since there is no Metro nearby. Ask whether the house sits inside a closed development with its own gate and shared maintenance, common throughout this part of the borough.
