Living in Paseo de la Reforma
The corridor runs from Bosque de Chapultepec to the Alameda, and the three colonias along it feel quite different. Juárez is the liveliest: the Zona Rosa, its Korean restaurants and the corridor's nightlife are all here. Cuauhtémoc sits on the north side of the avenue, on the streets named after rivers, and is the quietest and most residential of the three; it is also where renting costs most. Tabacalera wraps around the Monumento a la Revolución and the Frontón México, and rents on a par with Juárez.
What to consider before renting
You live on the city's office spine, so on weekdays the street belongs to the people who work here, and the weekend turns it into something else: on Sundays the avenue closes to traffic for cyclists and runners, and it is also the usual route for marches and marathons. In exchange you barely need a car, since Metrobús Line 7 runs along Reforma itself and the Metro is walkable at Insurgentes and Sevilla on the south edge of Juárez, or Revolución by Tabacalera. If you would rather have leafy streets than an avenue corridor, Condesa is across Av. Chapultepec.
