Buying in Lomas de Chapultepec

Apartments for sale in Lomas de Chapultepec range from mid-century buildings on the streets behind Paseo de las Palmas to recent towers along the Reforma corridor by the Fuente de Petróleos. Prices sit at the top of the city, level with Polanco; what you are paying for is the setting: the second and third sections of Bosque de Chapultepec border the colonia, and the avenues stay green and low-density in a way central neighborhoods cannot. Buyers who want to see more apartments in the same hills usually also cross the barranca to Bosques de las Lomas in Cuajimalpa, where far more come up.

What to consider before buying

Those two extremes are different purchases: ask how old the building is, how the maintenance fee is set and what it covers (elevators, pumps, shared gardens), and how many parking spaces are deeded to the unit, because in this colonia the car is non-negotiable. On the Miguel Hidalgo side of the barranca, Bosque de las Lomas also publishes plenty of apartments, and Lomas Altas, on the hillside to the south, is a quieter alternative that also publishes apartments for sale.
