Living in Santa Fe

Santa Fe is Mexico City's western business district, a cluster of glass towers built on reclaimed land around Centro Santa Fe, the largest mall in Latin America. One thing that surprises newcomers: the district straddles two boroughs, part in Álvaro Obregón and part in neighboring Cuajimalpa, so the same run of towers appears under two names and a search here naturally spills into properties for rent in Santa Fe Cuajimalpa next door. Most of what rents is apartments inside gated vertical developments, many furnished and ready for professionals relocating for work. Houses barely come up, so if a yard is essential you'll be choosing from a handful. Weekdays run on corporate energy near the Universidad Iberoamericana and Hospital ABC; weekends quiet down.

What to consider before renting

Santa Fe has no Metro station; the Tren El Insurgente stop that opened in 2024 links the district west toward Toluca, but most residents still drive, and traffic between towers is part of daily life. The district is self-contained, with supermarkets, schools and the mall reachable without leaving, though walking from one development to the next is limited. Rents here run below the priciest towers of apartments for rent in Santa Fe La Loma. If you want a yard, look instead at houses for sale in Santa Fe, since rentals are rare.
