Living in Gustavo A. Madero

Gustavo A. Madero stretches across the northern edge of Mexico City and ranks among the most accessible boroughs to rent in, especially outside its best known corner. That corner is Lindavista, split into Lindavista Norte and Lindavista Sur, with tree-lined streets near the Instituto Politécnico Nacional and the Basílica de Guadalupe. West of Lindavista, the Vallejo and Industrial corridor runs along the Azcapotzalco border, mixing old factory blocks with newer, lower cost buildings. To the east, the Secciones San Juan De Aragón sit beside the Bosque de San Juan de Aragón park, a quieter option for families. Renters chasing a more central address can also check Cuauhtémoc, just south.

What to consider before renting

Rents are lowest in the Vallejo-Industrial corridor and around Industrial, and climb closest to Lindavista Norte and Lindavista Sur, the borough's most sought after streets. Getting around is easy: Metro Línea 3 runs through Indios Verdes, Deportivo 18 de Marzo and La Raza, Línea 5 stops at Instituto del Petróleo and Autobuses del Norte, and Línea 6 crosses near La Villa. Metrobús Línea 1 also ends its route at Indios Verdes, the borough's main transit hub. If the industrial edge is not what you are after, Azcapotzalco just across the border has a similar accessible profile.
