The Guadalajara City Council has a comprehensive plan to repopulate the Center and its neighborhoods with housing for all social sectors, with the participation of the government, private initiative and civil society.

The plan includes protected housing programs, housing estates, rehabilitation of historic estates and housing development.

The objective is to provide affordable, accessible and quality housing, and to reverse the trend of depopulation and deterioration of the historic center.

In addition, the plan includes the restoration of facades, the improvement of lighting, security, cleanliness, mobility and the cultural and commercial offer of the historic center.
