New construction has reshaped what's for sale in Los Alpes: towers like the Alpes Residencial development have gone up along Avenida Revolución in recent years, so most current listings in Los Alpes are apartments, even though the colonia's original character is low-rise houses. The area still leans on the same two advantages: a Metro Line 7 exit inside the colonia at Revolución and Cóndor, and Avenida Barranca del Muerto for a quick drive out to Periférico. If a house on a quiet street matters more than a new tower, compare directly with Guadalupe Inn and Florida, both a short walk away toward San Ángel.

What to consider before buying

Buying here runs below San José Insurgentes, which has more restaurants along Insurgentes Sur and sits on the same Metro line, and above Mixcoac, a more urban stretch with its own Metro and Metrobús interchange. For an apartment in one of the newer towers, check the construction year before comparing prices: Los Alpes still mixes decades-old low-rise blocks with buildings finished in the last few years right on Revolución.
