Living in Cuauhtémoc

Cuauhtémoc packs some of Mexico City's most walkable neighborhoods into a compact grid, and each pocket has its own personality. In the center-west, Roma and Condesa set the trendy tone with tree-lined camellones, restaurants and nightlife, while Juárez runs along Paseo de la Reforma with offices and residential buildings just steps from Zona Rosa. Head north and east and the mood shifts: porfirian-era neighborhoods like Santa María la Ribera and San Rafael offer historic facades and a calmer, more affordable rhythm. Renters here choose between the buzz of the west side and quieter, classic streets closer to the center.

What to consider before renting

Three Metro lines and Metrobús routes along Reforma and Insurgentes cross the borough, so commuting to Polanco or downtown rarely takes long. Tabacalera, next to the Monumento a la Revolución, sits on that same Reforma corridor as Juárez but rents for less. Renters chasing a quieter, more residential feel can look south to Benito Juárez borough, where Narvarte and Del Valle are known for their tree-lined houses just across the border.
