Buying in Tlalpan

Tlalpan is one of Mexico City's clearest house-buying boroughs, and each zone has its own character. In the historic core, Tlalpan Centro offers colonial houses on cobblestone streets, while Fuentes del Pedregal in the northern pedregal delivers the borough's most upscale gated houses next to Periférico Sur. Toward the Ajusco, Club de Golf México and Tlalpuente put houses inside closed, forested developments built around bigger lots.

What to consider before buying

For a house with even more land and a slower pace, the pueblo of San Andrés Totoltepec sits at Tlalpan's southern edge, or look to La Magdalena Contreras just west, which shares the same wooded, low-density character. Since most of these zones run on Periférico Sur, Calzada de Tlalpan or the Carretera Picacho-Ajusco rather than the Metro, weigh the commute alongside the lot itself.
