Buying in Monterrey

Monterrey stretches from the primer cuadro all the way out to the Cañón del Huajuco, so buying here means choosing between a settled block near downtown, the western hillside, or the Carretera Nacional corridor. Just north of downtown, Industrial runs along Av. Cristóbal Colón and Av. Alfonso Reyes Norte, with Línea 1 crossing the city to its south. East of downtown, Buenos Aires keeps older blocks between Av. Constitución and Av. Chapultepec, with Av. Revolución along its edge. On the western side the ground begins to climb, and San Jerónimo runs uphill toward Loma Larga along Calzada San Jerónimo. On that same western side, Vista Hermosa sits between the Cumbres corridor and San Jerónimo, with Av. Insurgentes running along its southern edge and Galerías Monterrey a few blocks down that avenue.

What to consider before buying

In the south, access decides more than distance. Mirador Residencial is reached by turning up Camino al Mirador from the Av. Eugenio Garza Sada corridor, behind a controlled entrance. A few minutes away, Privada Fundadores has Av. Lázaro Cárdenas and Av. Fundadores as its ways in and out. No colonia on that corridor has a Metrorrey station. If the search is really about flat, walkable streets and the Calzada del Valle promenade, it continues in San Pedro Garza García.
