Living in Miguel Hidalgo

Miguel Hidalgo runs from the hillside Lomas corridor in the west, through Polanco, Nuevo Polanco and Anzures at its center, down to Tacubaya and Escandón toward the south, plus the more residential Tacuba and Popotla neighborhoods to the north. It is the most expensive borough in the city, but Miguel Hidalgo is broad enough that rent varies sharply within it: Polanco and the Lomas corridor sit at the top, while renting in Verónica Anzures or Escandón keeps you close to the same offices and restaurants for noticeably less. Both sit a short walk from Condesa across Benjamín Franklin, without leaving Miguel Hidalgo.

What to consider before renting

Commuting shapes most rental decisions here. Metro Line 7 crosses the borough with stops at Polanco, Constituyentes and San Joaquín, useful if you work along Nuevo Polanco or Paseo de la Reforma, while the western Lomas corridor leans on cars given its hillside streets. Renters who work in the Santa Fe corporate corridor often look just west, in Cuajimalpa de Morelos, for a shorter commute. Whatever the neighborhood, ask how far it sits from a Line 7 station before signing.
