Rent tends to climb the closer a block sits to the borough's central parks, so people priced out of the trendiest core often look toward the historic north or push east toward Venustiano Carranza, which sits just past Cuauhtémoc's edge and offers a more accessible base within a short commute of downtown. Metrobús Line 1 runs along Insurgentes and Line 7 down Reforma, so proximity to either avenue matters more for daily commutes than distance to any single landmark. Building age also varies widely across the borough, from converted early twentieth century walk-ups to newer towers near the corridor.
