Living in Lomas de Chapultepec III Sección

The III Sección is the corner of Lomas de Chapultepec closest to Periférico: a pocket that takes in the first stretch of Paseo de las Palmas and the streets climbing toward the ring road, with Polanco a short drive across it. Its best-known street, Sierra Mojada, mixes apartment buildings with corporate offices, so weekdays feel livelier here than on the garden streets deeper inside the colonia. Most of what comes up for rent are apartments within the III Sección; houses rarely appear here, and anyone set on one will find more to choose from among the houses across Lomas de Chapultepec.

What to consider before renting

The Metro does not reach this side of the colonia: from these blocks by Periférico and the Fuente de Petróleos, trips start with a bus ride down Reforma to Auditorio, on Line 7, so daily life here runs on cars. The offices on Sierra Mojada draw weekday visitors and their vehicles; if you want quiet during working hours, look at the side of Palmas opposite Sierra Mojada, away from Periférico. In exchange, the restaurants and boutiques along Paseo de las Palmas sit within a short walk and cover most everyday errands.
