Buying in Bosque de las Lomas

On the Miguel Hidalgo side of Bosques de las Lomas, houses set the tone: they make up most of what is for sale, the reverse of the Cuajimalpa side, where apartment towers dominate. Streets with names like Bosque de Amates wind along the edge of the ravine, and many lots open onto green views. The colonia was laid out in the 1970s, so alongside original houses you will find complete rebuilds and recent apartment projects near Paseo de los Ahuehuetes Norte. Its eastern neighbor, Lomas de Chapultepec, shares the same large-house character.

What to consider before buying

On this side the choice is usually between a 1970s original and a rebuild on the same tree-named street, not between towers as across the ravine in Cuajimalpa; ask exactly what was renewed before assuming which one you are seeing. Walk each candidate at more than one hour of the day: on lots that fall toward the green, lower floors gain the view but lose direct sun. Houses sit well above apartments in price here, so if the budget points to an apartment instead, the apartment towers near the colonia's entrances are the door in, with more to compare just south in Lomas de Bezares.
