Living in Conkal

Conkal keeps the rhythm of a Yucatán pueblo around its central plaza and the former San Francisco de Asís convent, while new private developments keep growing on its edges for people looking to move out of Mérida without going too far. Close to the historic center, the plaza and the pueblo's shops remain part of everyday life; farther out toward the road to Chicxulub, daily life depends much more on a car and on the services within each development. From both areas, there is still relatively easy access to Mérida's ring road.

What to consider before renting

The maintenance fee is paid separately from rent in many privadas. The official Va-y-Ven route (R-810) reaches Conkal's town plaza, with an extension toward the Tecnológico de Conkal, but doesn't enter the developments farther out toward Chicxulub; from those areas, daily trips still depend mainly on a car.
