Living in Monterrey

A rented house in Monterrey is usually found where the grid loosens and the lots get wider. The clearest case is Cumbres: dozens of sectors strung along Av. Paseo de los Leones, numbered upward as they move northwest, with the Sierra de las Mitras rising behind them. To the south, Carretera Nacional crosses the Cañón del Huajuco between Esfera, Pueblo Serena and the gated developments set back from the road, and on the western slope Colinas de San Jerónimo has curved streets and sloping lots below Loma Larga. Closer in, properties for rent in Contry sit at the foot of the Cerro de la Silla, reached from Av. Eugenio Garza Sada and Av. Revolución.

What to consider before renting

None of these areas puts a train within walking distance. Cumbres has no Metrorrey station of its own: the closest Línea 1 stops, San Bernabé and Talleres, sit east of the sectors, and the daily errands happen at Liverpool Cumbres, Park Point or Plaza Qú. Further along that same avenue, properties for rent in Cumbres Elite back onto the sierra at the far western end of the corridor, while properties for rent in San Jerónimo line Calzada San Jerónimo, closer in on that same side of the city. Northeast of the city, Apodaca rents houses for less, on flat ground around the industrial parks.
