Buying in Paseo de la Reforma

You buy here for the address and the height: apartments in towers looking over the avenue. In Juárez much of what sells is still under construction, among the porfirian houses and art déco buildings that remain. Cuauhtémoc has more established buildings and quieter streets, priced on a par with Juárez. Tabacalera, next to the Monumento a la Revolución, is where an apartment costs least.

What to consider before buying

Since Juárez and Cuauhtémoc cost much the same, the real decision is whether to wait for a tower to be delivered or move into a building that is already standing. Tabacalera opens the corridor to a different budget, with the Monumento a la Revolución as your landmark instead of the Ángel. Bear in mind these are mixed-use buildings, with offices and shops at the same address. Outside the corridor, south across Av. Chapultepec, Roma Norte has apartments at a similar price on leafy streets with parks around the corner.
