Living in Playas de Rosarito

The apartment buildings on this coast were put up facing the water, and they are strung along it rather than gathered in one place. Rosarito Centro is the stretch where daily errands stay on foot: the beach, the boulevard restaurants and the shops are all within a few blocks. Two or three kilometers south, Playa Encantada is a small pocket of condo buildings right on the water, quiet every day of the week. Renting an apartment here costs less than in Tijuana, which is the trade most people make when they pick the coast over the city.

What to consider before renting

Whether your building faces Boulevard Benito Juárez or a street behind it changes the day. The boulevard carries Mexico 1 through town and stays busy, while the 1D toll road skirts the center to the east before returning to the coast on the run north. Further out, Plaza del Mar and Mar de Puerto Nuevo I put you on the ocean but a long drive from a supermarket.
