Building description and history. - The Montejo Palace hotel project was set in motion on August 11, 1970. The building was erected on a lot measuring: 25 mt frontage and 40.00 mt depth, reaching Calle 58 on its western side. The total area is estimated at: 1,000 mt2. with a built area of: 7,516 mt2. The tower has 8 levels: basement, ground floor (street level), levels 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, used for the rooms, and the 7th level was designed for social events and a convention hall.
The architectural layout of the property originally included: Reception-Lobby, swimming pool, cafeteria, administrative offices, 90 rooms (60 standard and 30 suites), travel agencies, El Galeón Bar, convention hall for 300 people, Oro Verde hall for 150 people. 2 guest elevators, 1 service elevator, guest staircase and service staircases. Cisterns, absorption wells, kitchen office, accounting, laundry, linen room, housekeeper's office, maintenance area, sales office, human resources office. Thus, the building has 2 entrances, the main one on Paseo de Montejo Avenue and the second, service entrance on Calle 58. The building practically occupies 100% of the lot area, with a rectangular architectural floor plan. The foundation was built using: perimeter reinforced concrete walls and reinforced concrete footings, resting on solid stone slabs with the load-bearing capacity to support the total weight of the hotel. The structure starts at the basement with columns extending up to the 6th level, creating an open floor plan on all levels; vibro-compacted concrete walls were also used in certain areas, along with waffle concrete slabs and reinforced concrete slabs.
Ground floor: Lobby, restaurant, kitchen, bar (pool)

Lobby. - In this area, different zones were observed, including; counter-reception, elevators (2), waiting room, dining room, liquor bar, buffet bar, hot bar, concierge, stairs, outdoor terrace, travel agency office, women's and men's restrooms, and several stepped entrances from the public street.Bar, terrace overlooking the pool. - A bar counter was located next to a dining area; as for the service bar, the masonry is 100% complete, with ceramic floors and new wood-look ceramic tile covering the bar.
Level N 7: Event and convention rooms. - We analyzed this level N 7 as follows:

After touring and analyzing the property in question, I state the following:
The hotel offers one of the most beautiful views of the city of Mérida, and it is the year 2021; however, I
cannot imagine the sensations experienced by guests in the 70s.
