Located in the Historic Center of San Miguel de Allende, this old mansion from the 18th century, "La Casa de las Diligencias", is known as such because this is where the carriages from the silver route arrived. It is even rumored that while making adaptations in the house and tearing down walls, hidden money was found in its thick walls. Perhaps something hidden still exists...

In its construction of 711 square meters, those spacious double-height halls are preserved, and somewhere there still exists one of those tunnels that existed throughout the city leading to other nearby properties and churches in the area such as San Francisco or the church of the Oratory. In those days, it was one of the few houses with its own water supply, through its clay pipes coming from the Santo Domingo spring.

The quality of its thick walls and the strength of its foundations testify to how well it was built in the past; although it is in a very busy area, the noise of daily hustle and bustle is imperceptible.

The quarry arch of half point, original clay floors, ceilings of 6 meters high which are covered with wooden beams from the time of the revolution, original wooden doors and windows, it has an exceptional view from its balconies towards the Church of San Francisco and from the rooftop you can also see the church of the Oratory and the parish, with 9 rooms, kitchen and a small terrace on the upper part where an outdoor dining area can be installed, a full bathroom upstairs and a half bathroom downstairs, 2 commercial premises and the entrance at the bottom that can function as a third premises.Localizada en el Centro Histórico de San Miguel de Allende, se encuentra esta antigua casona del siglo XVIII, ” La Casa de las Diligencias”, conocida así porque aquí llegaban las diligencias de la ruta de la plata. Incluso se rumora que al hacer adaptaciones en la casa y al tirarse las paredes se encontró dinero oculto en sus anchas paredes. Quizá aún exista algo oculto…

En su construcción de 711 metros cuadrados se conservan esos amplios salones de doble altura, y en algún lugar todavía existe uno se esos túneles que existían por toda la ciudad hacia las demás propiedades cercanas e iglesias de la zona como la de San Francisco o la iglesia del Oratorio. En aquellos ayeres fue una de las pocas casas con abastecimiento propio de agua, a través de sus tuberías de barro proveniente del manantial de Santo Domingo.

La cualidad de sus anchos muros y fortaleza de sus cimientos dan testimonio de lo bien que se construía en antaño, si bien está en una zona de bastante movimiento diario es imperceptible el ruido del diario trajinar.

La arquería de cantera de medio punto, pisos originales de barro, techos de 6 metros de altura los cuales están tapizados de vigas de madera de la época de la revolución, puertas y ventanas de de madera originales, cuenta con unas vista excepcional desde sus balcones hacia la Iglesia de San Francisco y desde la azotea se puede ver también la iglesia del Oratorio y la parroquia, con 9 habitaciones, cocina y una pequeña terraza en la parte alta donde se puede instalar un comedor al aire libre, un baño completo en la parte de arriba y medio baño en la parte de abajo, 2 locales comerciales y la entrada en la parte baja que puede funcionar como un tercer local.
