Living in Lomas de Bezares

Lomas de Bezares climbs a wooded hillside in western Miguel Hidalgo, between Paseo de la Reforma poniente and Avenida Constituyentes, on the way out to Santa Fe. It is a small colonia and almost entirely residential: walled houses on quiet streets that follow the slope, and buildings that look over the barranca de Bezares rather than over traffic. Most of what comes up are apartments for rent in Lomas de Bezares, from classic buildings to recent towers; houses appear far less often. Renters who want restaurants and offices within walking distance usually compare it with Lomas de Chapultepec, one ridge to the east.

What to consider before renting

There is no Metro station in the colonia, and buses run along Constituyentes at its lower edge rather than up the hillside, so day-to-day life here assumes a car. In exchange, Constituyentes leads straight out to Santa Fe and the Toluca highway, and its ramp onto the Autopista Urbana Norte (the Periférico's second deck) handles the north-south runs. Streets are steep: walk the block at the hour you would normally come home before signing anything.
