Buying in Santa Fe
Buying a house in Santa Fe means buying into one of its closed developments, and the differences between them are large. Santa Fe La Loma holds the most expensive addresses in the zone, on walled streets at the top of it. Santa Fe Cuajimalpa runs west toward the Desierto de los Leones, where the plots get greener and the city thins out. Lomas de Santa Fe is the more reachable end while keeping Parque La Mexicana and the Hospital ABC minutes away.
What to consider before buying
Plots here often sit on slopes or against a ravine, and the zone was built over old sand mines, so the retaining walls, the drainage and the year the house was built are worth going through carefully. Being on the Cuajimalpa side puts the mountains genuinely close, with the Desierto de los Leones and the road toward La Marquesa a short drive out, which is the main reason people choose this zone over a flatter one. For a larger house on established streets, San Ángel is the traditional alternative in the same alcaldía, reached by the Supervía Poniente.
