Living in Santa Fe
The houses in Santa Fe sit in its gated pockets, on plots that step down toward the ravines: Santa Fe La Loma at the closed upper end, parts of Lomas de Santa Fe near Parque La Mexicana, and the western side of Santa Fe Cuajimalpa as it runs toward the highway and the forest. It is a rare combination in Mexico City: a garden and a closed street within minutes of an office district, the Ibero and the Tec de Monterrey.
What to consider before renting
If you want a house with land and a choice of streets, the established house zones are just outside Santa Fe. La Herradura in Huixquilucan is the closest of them, reached by Prolongación Paseo de la Reforma, and Bosques de las Lomas sits between Santa Fe and the Lomas corridor with older, larger houses. A house here also means arranging your own water storage rather than sharing a building system, and giving up the gym-and-coworking setup the towers use to keep residents from driving, in a zone where the mall and the supermarkets are a drive anyway.
