Buying in Querétaro

House sales lead everywhere in this corridor: Altozano alone carries more listings than any other colonia in the city, followed by Juriquilla, Cumbres del Lago and Jurica, an older, more established gated area with bigger lots and mature trees. The corridor runs along the Querétaro-San Luis Potosí highway, which also puts Antea and the UNAM research campus within a short drive of any of these developments. At the top, El Campanario is built around its own golf course and commands the highest prices among these developments, by a wide margin.

What to consider before buying

Lot size varies a lot between these developments, so compare price per square meter of land, not just the house, before ruling anything out on price alone. Ask what the HOA fee covers exactly, since golf-adjacent developments like El Campanario often bundle club access into a fee well above a standard gated section. Since each of these is a private development with its own residents' association, ask to see the bylaws and how much say owners get over pool, security and common-area decisions before buying in.
