Buying in Coapa

The history of the old haciendas can still be seen in the shape and names of several parts of Coapa. Granjas Coapa and Ex-Hacienda Coapa keep that reference, while areas like Prado Coapa and Villa Coapa correspond to later stages of growth. That evolution left a mix of houses, housing developments and apartment buildings built at different points in time, from the first subdivisions of the twentieth century to developments from later decades. Because of that, buying in Coapa doesn't mean a single type of housing: scale, age and layout vary quite a bit from one colonia to another.

What to consider before buying

Coapa spans both the Tlalpan and Coyoacán boroughs, so the exact location determines which borough a given property falls under. Construction age also varies between colonias and complexes developed in different periods. Canal de Miramontes, Calzada del Hueso and Avenida Acoxpa structure much of the movement within the zone and connect residential sectors to their main service areas. How each street relates to these avenues changes both everyday access and the level of activity around a given property.
