Buying in Lomas de Chapultepec I Sección

This is the original section of Lomas de Chapultepec, laid out in the 1920s as Chapultepec Heights, and here both houses and apartments come up for sale in almost equal measure. Buyers choose between two very different homes here: houses on the curved interior streets around Prado Norte and Prado Sur, many with decades of history, and apartments in the buildings that line the first stretch of Paseo de las Palmas. Being the section closest to the city, it starts right at the Fuente de Petróleos, where Reforma meets the Periférico.

What to consider before buying

Age is the first filter: a house here can be an original colonial californiano, a full remodel, or a new build on an old lot; ask what has been renewed and when, since each case means different upkeep. Along Paseo de las Palmas you will mostly find apartments; the interior streets are where houses appear. For a contemporary house nearby, compare the houses in Bosque de las Lomas; for apartment living with street life at the door, look at the apartments in Polanco.
