Living in La Magdalena Contreras

Apartments in La Magdalena Contreras concentrate almost entirely in San Jerónimo, the borough's most urban corner along the northern edge near Periférico. Properties for rent in San Jerónimo Lídice sit within walking distance of the small commercial strip along San Jerónimo avenue, and properties for rent in San Jerónimo Aculco share the same corridor around the old parish. Elsewhere in the borough, the wooded pueblos toward Los Dinamos and the streets around Luis Cabrera lean heavily toward houses, so renters set on an apartment tend to stay close to this northern strip rather than spread across the borough.

What to consider before renting

Because this corridor sits right at the edge of Periférico Sur, it works well for anyone commuting north without wanting to leave the green surroundings behind entirely. Renters who want a larger apartment selection nearby often extend their search into Álvaro Obregón, which borders San Jerónimo to the north around San Ángel and Olivar de los Padres. Within the borough itself, properties for rent in Barrio San Francisco is worth checking for a smaller unit in a quieter, more traditional setting.
