Living in Cuajimalpa

Most rentals in Cuajimalpa's pueblo center are apartments in two- and three-story buildings near the Parroquia de San Pedro Apóstol and the Mercado Cuajimalpa, not in gated complexes. The pueblo goes quiet once it closes, so apartment living here means errands on foot by morning and slow streets by night, family routine over nightlife. Renters after daily proximity to the Santa Fe towers instead of pueblo streets should look at apartments for rent in El Yaqui, which sits right along that commute.

What to consider before renting

Prices for an apartment here run below Contadero, the wooded colonia just north, which makes Cuajimalpa the more affordable way to stay close to the same hills. Building age varies block by block: units nearer the plaza tend to be older, with less covered parking, while ones farther from the center skew newer. Renters who'd rather trade the pueblo's older buildings for newer ones closer to the forest edge can compare apartments for rent in San Mateo Tlaltenango, another pueblo a bit farther uphill.
